Haven’t ridden since 11/2, when @Scooterbrained and I roamed the roads.

Watched ‘Bama kick some K State Wildcat fanny, then home to tighten chain, check oil, and add some air to the tires (down to 6 & 2 psi 😬). Some longjohns under the jeans, and off I go.

No plans, just ride in the woods ‘til around 5 ‘til midnight then stop for a drink of water. Then be on my way back to more riding, or on back home. We shall see.

Soon to be Happy New Year’s 2023 to you all!!

Well, the first ride to bring in 2023 was a bit chilly and foggy!! My low beam is out, so with only high beam, and lots of low dense fog, it made for a looong, slow, chilly ride home. Thank goodness there wasn't much traffic to deal with.

Cotton clouds....is what I like to call these.

Stopped around a quarter ‘til midnight to have a swallow, or two, of Dollar General’s finest…., and hoped I wouldn’t be stopped on way home with an open container. Literally 2-3 sips, so if they fretted over that then so be it….I wasn’t pouring it out, or littering the forest. Not something I do normally.

About 4-5 miles from the house, while riding through some thick fog....with only high beam working....my worst fear appeared. Road kill. Lucky for me it appeared to be a small (dead) possum, and I nailed it dead center....I didn't dare try to swerve to try and miss. I was only doing about 20mph. Had it be anything bigger, I may have ate pavement.

Lesson learned.....if I'd had a phillips screwdriver on me....I coulda adjusted that high beam lower.

Yes, riding home along shady forest roads I kept hitting the potholes/washouts. Not good for my old spine. I'm glad I headed back home when I did.
Yeah, I've done the same. Riding in the shade cover can be tricky at times.

That midnight ride idea is so cool. Right now, I am at the point where 30 rounds aimed at the mountain to the west seems adequate to ring in the New Year. I guess I'm getting old.

Ha Ha !! I did the same !
