I’m Stoked!!! Lauren got her motorcycle endorsement and bought a Yamaha V-Star250 and has been riding for just over a year now. The first thing she wants to do when she gets home is ride my extra TW.
I serviced them today so they are ready to ride.

Pictures to come...

Look who Lauren booked a dive for last week. Unfortunately she wasn’t able to dive with them.

That really is cool and Nicole should be proud she is working at one of the premier dive shops in HI. The SS would not have picked her shop if was just some flea bag operation.

I picked Lauren up from the airport this morning after her grueling plane ride. She was a little tired but wanted to take a TW ride before she layed down for a nap.

She hurt my feelings :( She said my TW didn’t have much power, was slow and she had to shift three times before it started picking up speed. Hahaha. I guess after riding her V-Star 250 losing 50cc makes a big difference.
We did have a nice 45 mile ride.

TopPredator I wish you a speedy recovery.

I had a different experience. My daughter rides a CBR250 and after taking out my 15 TW she was like " I love this thing." We are planning our first motorcycle trip together for next week and she is not sure which bike she wants to take so I told her to take them both out for a good ride tomorrow so we can figure out our route based on what she is riding. Fingers crossed :)

I’ll let her ride the Black Widow next. It’s a lot more peppy plus I need to take her off road for some trail riding.

Is there any reason why the black widow is more peppy than your other TW? Maybe different sprockets or some other change you made. I just wonder because if everything is the same such as carbs and gearing then both bikes should be closely matched in performance. I have had numerous TWs and from both the older and newer model years and never really found one that was all that much different than another unless the sprockets were changed or a carb was not quite tuned correct.

I am Absolutely elated that she rides but as a protective father I sometimes worry for her safety. Lauren bought a scooter as soon as she moved to Honolulu and I wasn’t surprised when she said that she wanted a motorcycle.

I was surprised that Marian didn’t go nuts whe she heard the news especially after all the S^*t she gave me when I bought the TW in 2014 :)

Just got back from my Northern Ontario ride with my daughter. We left Monday at noon and got back Friday afternoon. I wanted to take two TWs but realized I have several broken spokes on the back wheel of my 99 so Holly rode my 15 TW and I took my FZ6. We covered over 1500 kms of secondary highways including about 150 kms of gravel. We rode to Chapleau Ontario so I could show my daughter where I was born and lived till I was ten. There were no motels available in Chapleau due to a gold rush where the mining company has booked every available room in the area and the next town is 200 kms away so I hooked up with an old family friend through facebook and she insisted on hosting us. Great home made cooking and we even got to have an old fashioned wood fired sauna. We were so luck the weather cooperated with slightly cold mornings and perfect afternoons and evenings. I was afraid to bring Holly on such a tough and remote ride as she has never ridden more than day rides and very little gravel but she amazed me with her skills and endurance.

That’s to cool 932 miles :). I’m sure you are proud of her. Lauren will be home for a couple years starting next May. I would love to do a week long trip with her.

We did a 38 miles (61 kms) ride earlier in the week to Havre D Grace for ice cream.

Today we rode 65 miles (105 kms) all around Harford County on as many back roads that I could find. We stopped at a Harley Davidson shop then rode along the Susquehanna river to Port Deposit MD where we had lunch. It was supposed to rain today but we didn’t get a drop. :D

Where were all these Biker Babes when I was looking for them? Great stories and great pictures but I did get dizzy trying to view TPs last attachment. I am a bit tilted to the right but nowhere near 180 degrees. :p

Today was our last ride until she returns next year and the ride was her idea. :D. I took off work and we spent the day riding to Gettysburg PA, 164 mile round trip. I did get her off the pavement for just a bit. We were riding on a dirt road when we discovered that a bridge was out. The state had built a foot bridge so I immediately headed across it, then about 50 yards of single track trail until we reached the road. She’s broke in :) Next year Green Ridge.
