First i removed the instrument panel and unplugged it from the harness. Then i traced out the panel on a piece of flat aluminum .

Then i used a 3M double sided sticky foam to hold the dimmer to the new aluminum panel. The dimmer is very close in size to the stock instrument panel.

My 12V plug is wired straight to the battery, with it's own fuse near the battery (around 6" up the wire). Constant power with ignition on or off.

I'm thinking of adding a second plug inside the luggage box. It'll be wired to the battery with a fuse and a relay to turn it on/off with the main ignition.
