We are looking to sell our 1989 TW200 and wondering what a good price range is for resale on these..

It hasn't been ridden much past couple of years, and had one owner before that.

It's in Fair to Good condition.

We really want to purchase a dirtbike instead of a street bike.

Any suggestions on cost are greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Just curious... you say you want to "purchase a dirtbike instead of a streetbike." Do you consider the TW200 a streetbike? What does it not do in the dirt that you would like it to do? My '93 makes me happy both on the street AND in the dirt, hence the designation "dual-sport." Perhaps you want a pure, non-street legal dirtbike?

As far as price, how many miles does it have on it? I'd do some Craigslist comparison to see what TWs are selling for in your area. I'd need to know more about the bike you have for sale, the area where you're selling it, and even better, see a photo before suggesting a price.

I'm gonna say 600-1500, depending on miles, condition and sometimes even location - some places DS bikes like the TW are more popular than others depending on how useful they are.

It's all about negotiating to make the buyer feel they got a deal. You could ask for $1400/firm and no one will bite, but you ask for $1600/best offer/make offer and potential buyers feel they have some power on the price and get interested. It's a game. Check your local market. If TW's are dime a dozen, then you have to stay competitive with others available. If you're the only one on craigs you could get better money for it...provided potential buyers know what a TW is, you keyword'ed your ad for it to pop-up to other usual bike searches (ttr, cr, xt, drz, etc.), and you don't ask a million dollars for it.

If you're interested in a dirt bike, consider offering a trade within your ad. That may get people willing to part with more bike for yours, it's all in what each of you want and what the other has to offer.

I'm in the Spokane, WA area.. it looks like they're selling for the 1000-1200 range.

We're wanting a non street legal bike to ride for racing.

Looking at a Yamaha 125 probably.

Thanks for your help!
