Has anyone ever lowered there tw200? Im talking pretty much bottoming out the rear suspension and lowering the forks 5-6". Now before you say anything I know this defeats the whole purpose of a tw!! But im a 17 year old high school student if that explains anything. I think id look pretty baller with one of those nitro heads drag/harley looking style exhausts on it too. :D:D Thoughts?

V-Star 1100 rear shock will drop the seat of the bike 3 inches, then do this to the front:

Be aware that any changes of this sort, especially to the front, may negatively impact handling.

Any other shocks that will drop it more? Can i simply buy a smaller spring ? I dont care about handling but id like to be able to convert it back to stock for off road use

Well, if you survive, you will next time, lol.

That shock is the only one I know of that will work without modifying something.
I assume you still want some suspension, otherwise you can get a solid strut installed and adjust it to any height you want..

I lowered my TW for my wife by redrilling the swing arm as low as possible which dropped the rear about 3" the droped the tripples on the forks 1 1/4". Still handles great. If you combined this with the v-star shock you should be pretty low. 003.JPG 002.JPG 005.JPG IMG_20150606_154130537_HDR.jpg

There are some really cool street modded TDubs out there. How about dropping it like a lowrider? Then you'd have adjustable suspension and could lower the air ride when you park it. Not that I know much about it but something I'd look into.

Will, I can dig what you are trying for and would offer some advice but do not know your skills or budget. When I was your age a buddy and I built the first chopper in our little town. We used a Harley 125 Hummer frame with a Honda 150 Dream engine and rear wheel then we mated up a 21" moped front wheel to the forks and threw on a set of ape hangers. Can you weld? do you have any fabrication skills? Do you understand frame geometry or terms like rake and trail?

Anyway... it's pretty easy to slam a scooter, and ya need to know a couple of things before you start... can you find a mentor that is into bikes?

If you dont mind a rough ride on the road (don't even think about this for offroad) you could turn it into a hardtail by replacing the shock with something else completely. Find a good solid steel bar that is a good diameter to fit in the slots that the shock mounted in, cut it off to the length you need, drill two holes in it, and presto; a low riding hardtail. You could lower it until the tire is an inch or so below the lowest point inside the rear fender. I'm not sure if you would have to adjust the rear brake rod, or change it in any way. A little experimenting with various lengths of metal with the shock off will tell you what you need to know. This is an ad hoc method that i just thought of and suggested. I am not responsible for any broken lower backs when you go over that curb at 50 kmh. :)
