Some of the farmers out here use them to run their irrigation lines-I have seen TWs with 40-55,000 plus miles on the original engines and nearly 20 years olds.
44,xxx on Tdub and going strong, and she has been beaten unmercifully. SS1000, many 400 to 700 mile days, riding through the desert with 112*F (44*C) temps at 5000 feet (1525m) altitude. A well maintained engine will last a long time.
Good info guys. Thanks. I'm tough on bikes but I take care of them. Wanta make sure the dub can handle 250 miles a week for a few years. Since that free 87 I got didn't work out gonna go buy a new one
