A couple interesting views to start my Moab thread. I wouldn't necessarily recommend this riding position as the landing is not as smooth as one would expect!:D

Just for TW-Brian I did a cameo of a certain riding position...as brief as it was:p

You go to great lengths to get creative, one-of-a-kind TW shots! Ignoring the 'rubber side down' rule opens up all sorts of artistic possibilities. I'd say keep them coming but that might be hazardous to your health.

The views may have been more interesting if you had your eyes open... :p (PS your posts are always awesome and very entertaining!)

When Kris is out riding without Lori he tends to get nostalgic back to his Jimi Hendrix days and "Kiss The Sky" moments tend to come into play.

I appreciate the unique shot of me; but am sad to say that I did not have my video running at the time. You did give me a scare as I was worried of the possibility that you might come sliding all the way back down with the bike pushing you and using you to cushion it's fall. Although not as spectacular; I had many more "off-tracks", "sand naps", and "wall climbing crash/fails" than you.

Thanks Kris, I always enjoy your Admiral aerial antics :D!

What do you call this one - your no-look, one handed, left leaning, 12 o'clock wheelie layover ? I give you a 9.9 for technical merit (I had to deduct 0.1 style points since I didn't see the landing - but I am sure it was spectacular ;)).

I said to myself, "I'm sliding down on my back", and then flipped over in a seated position at the very end of the landing!

At some point, I'll be posting a "crash compilation" video which several forum members in Moab contributed too!:p

Attempted to Powdercoat my TW "Moab Red Clay". I tried to Powdercoat my pants and boots the same color. :p

the Powdercoat even stuck to the Sprocket Specialists aluminum 60T sprocket. Rear rim seems to be nicely coated!

Admiral sure know how to get the most out of a TW outing.
While Kris is too modest to point out the gnarly details you should know that he aerial antics occurred on a rather steep continous slick rock surface on Hell’s Revenge with no soft landing. The potential for bike and rider to grind and slide further down the sandstone slope is very real.

Fred "While Kris is too modest to point". Yeah, I'll be included in the crash compilation video so folks can "feel" the effects. Oh, and you made the cut and are included in the video too! :p

Moab 17 Day 1 Sovereign ATV trail section

First trail ride of Moab 17 for the TW group. We started this section with 9 and 4 would peel off when we started the next section-Copper Ridge Jeep Trail and Slickrock. This part of the Sovereign ATV Loop is a good introduction to what you can expect for most of the Moab trails.

Even on this trail, you'll get the "sand experience"!

Moab 17 Day 1 Copper Ridge Slickrock

On this section, we ride a part of the Copper Ridge Jeep Trail and rejoin the shared Sovereign Loop on the Slickrock. We ride Fallen Peace Officer trail after this section.

GHDave, Plumbstraight, Stig, and Don all taking a break just before we drop into a wash.

View of some Slickrock near the trail

One with me before the soreness facial expressions set in at days end

Moab has some awesome views. The trails get us close enough to see them.

Moab 17 Day 1 Fallen Peace Officer Trail

First time on the Falle Peace Officer trail. Had some pretty neat sections. We ended this part of the ride out at the trailhead at U.S. Highway 191. Ah, but our day is not done so stayed tuned. :)

Captured the Admiral somewhere near something or other Abyss on The SlickRock Trail where pictures just don’t convey the real experience...one noses around blind corners while sidehilling on smoothly inclined trackless rock, then commit to uphill or downhill switchbacks. Awesome riding!

Note the proper elbows out, weight forward attack stance, intuitive body english initiating turn-in for the upcoming right turn despite the minimal tire contact? I think he even had his eyes open this time.:p

Moab 17 Day 1 Tusher Tunnel to Determination Towers

After lunch, GHDave, Don, Stig, and myself contined our ride. Unfortunately, my live action camera wasn't functioning properly so I missed recording us riding the Mashed Potatoe trail near Hidden Canyon Rim trail.

At the Mashed Potatoes/Hidden Canyon Rim trail jct, I noticed someone placed a rock which looked like a dorsal fin and made this rock look like a shark. Look carefully and have an imagination. :D

After we linked back up on Blue Hills road, GHDave and Don decided to return to camp but Stig wanted to ride more trails. I had a couple trails we've not ridden in the past so off we went.

We ride some of the 3-D Jeep Trails from Tusher Tunnel up Tusher Wash with a quick jaunt into Tusher Canyon. We then junction at the Lower M&M (Monitor & Merrimac) Trail near Determination Towers. I'll finish Day 1 Video with the Lower M&M up next.

We turned up and rode the dead-end Tusher Wash Canyon trail. It was pretty cool up yonder.

Awesome views of the canyon walls at the end of the canyon

Looks like an elephant laying on it's stomach with it's legs out in front.

Contrasting desert canyon colors

I think he's gonna get his kickstand fixed after this ride.

Stig went hiking about and I was hoping he would find some skeletal remains from a drug running airplane crash but I was foiled in my hopes so we continued on.

We ride back down the Tusher Canyon and up Tusher wash and take a break not far from Determination Towers
