9.3 miles up Cold Creek Road from Nevada highway 95
Turn left/south on Nevada Forest Road 570.
Supposed to be 6.1 miles to Mud Springs
I went only 5.8, then hiked uphill close to a mile (well, it felt like a mile!)
By then a truck road had turned into a Jeep trail, then into a M/C trail, with increasing difficulty for a solo ride.
When I reached a steep descent on the trail, I turned back.

Although the front suspension on the XL is superior, the TW200 fat tires were a bit better in cobble, but both the TW (stock front) and XT (21') have a tendency to wash out when turning on loose rock. The fat rear tire on the TW had better grip in loose rock. The XT will spin / throw rocks in gears 1, 2 & even 3.

The 21" front is easier to dump (maybe just me?) at low speed in lose rock (no photo ops to show lose rocks and big rocks). However, when laid over:

1. EFI has no flooding issues. In 3 layovers, only lost fuel from cap once (45 miles on the tank, so fairly full).

2. Most awkward layover was Tue, when I was on a berm (minor downgrade) with a deep washout on one side. After pickup, clutch perch & left switch housing needed adjustment. Scratched (minor) the top of the "flyscreen" above the headlight (the bike was closer to upside down than just laid over), front of fender and left turn signal lens.

3. The lean angle sensor (tilt switch/bank angle sensor) worked no better than it did on my 2003 H-D Sportster when I laid it over on a fire road in SoCal. The bike was completely on its side with motor running and rear tire turning, each time. Kill switch worked fine.

4. Neither Tue left side layover nor today's two right side layovers (one uphill and one downhill) affected the bike other than the aforementioned plastic scratches. Components are tucked in tight.

5. Reasonable to pickup

Did not get a good check on fuel consumption. $3 (1.13 gallon for 82 miles) did not quite top off tank. May only have been 63 MPG (1.3 gallon?) - 68 MPG (1.2 gallon?), running 55 (uphill) - 65 (level/downhill) on highway 95, 55 up Cold Creek and then slow on the forest road.

Exactly 500 miles on the odometer, still following break-in procedure.

Cleaned off at local coin-op car wash: One minute of soap, one minute of rinse and 3 minutes of blow dryer. Lubed chain after I got home.

Givi GRT707 "waterproof" tail/tool bag arrived in mail, today. Should be good for night googles, foot pump, tire patches, etc.
