I did a 5000 km solo ride on my TW in April following the route of a pioneer traveller in South Africa 200 years ago. He was William Burchell. He wrote a book about it but only 2 of the intended 3 volumes came out. I managed to get a copy of the 1967 limited reprint which includes a very good map he drew. When I came to write up the trip for the local Adventure Riding site I decided to actually concentrate more on what Burchell saw, drew and wrote about than what I did so that I could make it an external link on the Wiki entry. That I have done. It really is not much about the bike ride and it is pretty long.
