I installed some surplus MSR ATV Low handlebars on my TW I bought for my V Strom. They are about 1" taller than stock, and about 1.5-2" wider than stock. They were less than $30. I also added some 2" aluminum risers I found on E-bay for $19.00. As someone who likes to stand on the pegs while riding-this works great for me and I was able to use the stock cables. 20160422_185437_resized.jpg

I used the ATV High bars from here, new grips from Amazon.

I pulled the headlight assembly, and ran the cables behind the triple tree to get more slack, pretty easy, and I have enough slack to add a riser if I want more height.

Found something very cool for figuring out riding geometry. ..Motorcycle Ergonomics
Looks like I want to go 3" up and 3" forward (which is probably about the distance I moved my stocks forward) on the bars and 2" forward on the pegs....which is about what I visualized as comfortable but very cool to see what changes do to the ergonomics

No, but I've had the Rox Pivoting risers since just a couple of weeks after purchase....I got 2" higher and 2" forward, kept the stock bars, and have never seen any reason to change them since. I'm 6' with longish legs and arms (32 inseam and 35 sleeve). But I don't stand up a whole lot, being old.....:p YMMV

I just installed tag 1 1/8 bars with pro taper risers, about 1-2 inches higher, wider than stock, feels great, cost about 65$,using stock cables.
That is exactly what I am going for..Did you get the EVO or Contours? Did the riser convert from the stock 7/8 to 1 1/8 ?

Does anyone have a suggestion for replacement bars. Would like to have something higher and possibly a little wider, but with out replacing cables or wiring. Brand or part # ?.
Thanks Big T.
I have a 2006 and installed 2" Roc risers and the cables were fine with the higher bars. What part of PA are you from?
