Any ideas for best place to find good quality fork boots, oil filters and a rear reflector? Is that reflector the same size as the forks reflectors? Ron Ayers doesn't show one for the rear bracket.

Also need used white (I believe that was the color for the '87) side covers. Is that one piece cover for the right side?

Or is there a separate cover for the wiring?

And need a '87 gas cap and key if possible.

Any place to buy a seat cover like the original? My foam and pan is good.

I believe Ron Ayers has the best price for the chain case and petcock. $18.71 plus ship for case and $13.34 for petcock.

Just read the thread about fork oil. Very informative. Thanks

on the ron ayers fiche the rear mudguard DOES HAVE a reflector which i had told you in your other thread (post #13)...might as well get the oil filters from them also

look for daystar fork boots...which you can also search for by typing the following into google: site:http://tw200forum.com fork boots

http://tw200forum.com/index.php?/topic/4087-daystar-58s-fork-boots/

ron ayers says the side covers are black $45.50 + shipping with no decals on them

a new gas cap is $72.72 on ron ayers so hopefully you can find a used one...some people have used older non locking caps

google: site:http://tw200forum.com gas cap

The right cover is one piece. It snaps onto some grommets which are located beneath the electrical compartment. If it helps, several years were white, all interchange. The early ones may or may not have the "Electric" decals depending on the year. In fact all the plastics on all years interchange.

There were two color schemes per year for early models. Make sure that you and your seller are on the same page, and if ordering new make sure you read the fine print. As Point37 pointed out some of the parts fiche calls for black plastic, which was the optional color for U.S. '87's. Same story with the tanks.

The rear reflector is the same size as the fronts, but in red. All years had the same one. lot of us remove them as they tend to get destroyed or the bracket gets bent into a tire offroad. There ought to be a ton of them available.

I did read and understand your first response to my question about rear reflector. I looked again at the Ayers fender page, saw the bracket, but still didn't see a reflector there. Maybe it comes with the bracket and is hard to see in the diagram.

I liked the idea about small round licence plate reflectors, less vulnerable.

Lizrd cleared me up about the shape and availability. Can't find one on eBay yet.

Thanks for sharing your ideas and expertise.

yea the fiche drawing isn't the best but if you have any questions just give them a call before you put in your order...if you didn't want to go with the license plate reflector bolts you could go get a little sheet metal and grab a reflector from a bike and make one yourself...i made my licence plate bracket myself with no experience...if you are looking for more visibility do something with reflective tape...i've seen guys put reflective tape around the rim lips and around the edge of their plastics...i don't even have a reflector on the rear of my bike...depends where you get it inspected i guess
