The factory service manual (fsm) , at least in my mind, is a bit vague on this topic. It advises to loosen the lock nut all the way and tighten the adjuster all the way... this is done at clutch cable down on the case-where it attaches too the "lever or pointer " . Then , the fsm advises to rotate the lever / pointer towards the front of the engine ; loosen the lock nut and turn the adjusting screw so it "lightly seats " against the bearing on the internal push rod , this lock nut and screw are located on the pressure plate . Supposedly this turns the pointer and lines it up with the index mark on the case , the pointer doesn't move however ?. Supposedly your finished at this point......fsm never advises on returning to the adjusters on the cable down by the case????. I'm aware I've missed a step or two ,but if someone has the time to read their fsm and clarify I'd appreciate it . TIA
