I have a 96 that needs a carb. For my 99 i just bought a new carb and it works great now. But there is a huge price difference, read $200 difference, beween a rebuild kit from pro cycle and a new carb. Is an older carb that has been neglected worth rebuilding or should i just shell out the price for a new carb?

Also while im at it, is there a replacement carb that could be swapped?

As long as the internals are not severely corroded, the carb body isn't cracked, or the float posts broken, a rebuild should make it like new.

...and as long as you don't mess up anything during the rebuild. :)

There is no direct carb swap without buying extra parts that would make the total cost as much as replacing the original carb.
