Hello to everyone here at the TW200 forum. I currently own an '80 CX500C, a VSTROM 650, and recently bought a 2006 TW200. I am an old fart with a bad knee and don't want to wrestle a heavy bike in the dirt any more. I think the TW will suit me well and allow me to do some off-road riding and camping with my son who is still a bit of an adrenalin junky on his CRX.

After lurking for quite a while I have been quite impressed with the helpful people here just like on Chopper Charles' CX sight so thanks to all and special thanks to CC.

I bought my Dub thinking that the carburetor was responsible for its poor performance and I was half right. I got the carb working well following tips from here but did a compression test and found that the engine needs a top end job. I have it apart and parts ordered. I will be asking a couple questions in the tech section but fist wanted to introduce myself.

I made a rack for the bike that might interest some and will post a picture when I figure out how.

More later, DuckLuck.

Welcome, DuckLuck. I also found this site via Chopper Charles' CX/GL site. I used to have an '82 GL500 that gave me a lot of problems, so I got rid of it a couple of months ago (to my co-worker) and am only riding my TW. Though I miss the GL and miss having a cruiser, I really am enjoying my TW, and will one day have a cruiser again, though something newer.

I don't remember the screen name, did you have a different name on the other site?

Thanks Dan. I put a few miles on my CX today. I like it a lot but I also like my VSTROM a lot as well as every other bike I have owned. On that CX forum I was Ratnose. I didn't comment often but took a lot of advice from it just like I have here. I spaced out on my post above when I called my son's bike a CRX. It is a CRF 450. I won't be able to keep up but I expect to be able to get to most of the same places.
