Hey everybody, just though I'd finally contribute on here instead of just lurking. I bought a 2013 TW up here in Canada new from the dealership. Added their "bumper to bumper anything goes wrong we fix it" extended warranty, because I need another bike to wrench on like I need a hole in the head. Anyway, used if for a season, mostly teaching my girlfriend how to ride. Did some muddy trails with it, puttered around the city. Not quite 1000 k on the odo. Put it in the garage for winter, forgot to drain the gas. Wouldn't start after a couple months of sitting. Put in new gas, took apart the carb, cleaned it, still nothing, so I took it in to take advantage of said warranty. Apparently, there is 25% lss of compression, moisture and some small amount of dirt in the cylinder. Needs a new top end. They will not cover it through the warranty, either manufacturers nor extended. They are saying that it was "swamped" and that it is broken due to abuse.
I never swamped it, it has been only lightly used off road, but it has been through puddles and what not. Nothing crazy. Basic trail bike stuff... The air box and filter are not full of water and mud, which should be the case if I rode it into a lake or something, right? I'm not sure how to proceed with this. I'm thinking maybe the car wash? Anybody have any thoughts? Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks!,

Oh, PS I've done more oil changes than recommended during the break in period, and only rode in town until it was over...
