Hello everyone. I have enjoyed reading the site the last few days. I have had my eye on a TW for a while after seeing them on an elk hunting forum. 99% set on a TW but do plan to look at an xt250 in person as well. Came here to research pricing and mileage but so far just have a list of mods to do. Oh well that’s the fun part. I’m in Texas if it matters and would appreciate any comments on good used pricing. I’m seeing 2000-3500 which has me thinking finding a leftover 2018 early next year may get me a new bike for not much more money.

Not what I would call a steal of a deal however if the bike has been taken care of probably not a bad deal either. Welcome from Canada and good luck with your search!

Welcome from a fellow Texan.

I don't know about your area but here in Dallas Ft Worth dealers do not make a drastic reduction on unsold prior year models plus they try to add $400 for transportation and $400 for dealer set up to the MSRP which is around $4600 new so you are looking at a starting point for negotiation over $5000 plus TTL.

For comparison here is a 2018 listed as pre-owned with 19 miles for $4330. If the pre-owed is legitimate presumably the extra $800 will not be added to the $4330 asking price but I DO NOT KNOW THIS FOR SURE. In any case it gives you something for comparison.

This spring I offered my near mint 2014 (less than 1500 miles, adult owned, garage kept, never dropped, plus rear cycle rack, saddle bags, tank bag, 12V and usb outlets, etc) as part of a package that included an enclosed transport trailer also set up as a camper and kayak for $6250 this spring, figuring $3750 for the TW and $2500 for the trailer and kayak but I turned down offers for just the TW.

I will now offer just the TW for $3750, so if interested PM me.

They seem to hold their values better than most bikes for some reason. I just bought a TW200 for the wife. There were 30 TW200s for sale within 200 miles of me. The only bikes that were $2K or less were older than 2000 and ratted out. I settled on a 2007 with 800 miles on it for $2,500.
