Hello everyone my name is Dan, Im new to bikes and this forum. I aquiered a 1999 Tw200 That need some work and have been working on it the last week or so and have been loving it. I rode bikes when i was younger but not a lot and have always wanted to get back into it. Thank you everyone for the information i have got off of here for manuals and other things, it has been a lot of help. Its is a 1999 and has been sitting in the Arizona sun for the last two years or so. It use to be my girlfriends bike and they just parked it. The carb was a little seesed up but it loosened up right away when i put it in gas. I would love to know what you might think i need work on and what you think. Thank you for the welcome im glad to be apart of this.

welcome...you just have to paste the img codes in the text box to post your photos...i posted 1 below...this thread should explain the rest...some of the photos look a little small...as far as what you need to do...clean the whole bike, drain the old gas check the tank for rust and put in new gas, if the tank is rusted you may want to get a clarke tank, oil & filter change, carb cleaning, probably need a battery, check/add air to tires, check/adjust brakes, check signals/horn/headlight/tail light/license plate light and replace bulbs if necessary, clean the air filter, clean & lube the chain or replace if necessary (if you replace the chain you may want to replace the sprockets depending how many miles are on it)...it looks to be in pretty decent shape though...what parts are you missing?...seat?...side cover?...chain guard?

this site will have any OEM parts you need but post up what you need before cause a member may have some parts to sell you cheaper...

I have the seat and chain guard, i took them off when i took the battery out and cleaned up the chain some. The seat cover is trashed from the sun and the front tier is flat. i did hook up my battery charger up to charge the battery but would not hold a charge but the lights and blinkers all worked but they were real dime from no charge.

you can buy new cover for your seat or the cover and foam for the seat...everyone has a different opinion on batteries so i suggest you do a search...to do a search on this site do a site specific search on google (for example type into the google search box "site:http://tw200forum.com battery" if you are looking for battery info



a forum member that works for this company made a page for the TW so you can find a good amount of parts here...
