Got the new o-ring chain on today. Should I clean off all the factory lube or leave it and just clean and relube when needed next time? I have my chain wax that I've been using on the bikes forever with good results.

I think you can just use the factory lube until you need to clean it and then re-lube...... Have you learned the stick under the rear foot peg trick for keeping the tire off the ground while cleaning and lubing??? If you haven't then E-mail me back and I'll go out and measure the OAL and send it to you.. Make sure your lube is rated for O-ring chains.. OMM.

Yes have the stick for that. Made one years ago when it was first mentioned on the site. Great idea that keeps on giving. Thanks for the quick reply. Matter of fact, I had to use it on the road yesterday when my old stock chain came off.

I just use a scissor jack from one of my old cars under the peg. Is the stick like the crutch leg gizmow uses. How do you get it up on there by yourself.

Same concept as Mrgizmo and Liz.

this is Liz's. Mine is just a dowel about the size of a broom handel. I think it is an old rake handle that was broke . I just cut off what I needed. I can through it in my box and have it with me always. Good thig to because it would not been fun getting the chain back on not being able to lift the rear end.

Uh, did you run the original chain until it stretched so much it fell off, then wrap a new chain around the original sprockets?
