Just bought a used TX after years of jonesing for one after a test ride at the local Yamaha dealer. Have used forums for other bikes I have/had and figured I needed one for this one too.

About me, I work nursing at my local VA hospital after doing 9 years in the Army. Love my job.

I have been riding one form or another since I got a Yamaha 60 way back when in the late 70s. Been up to 250cc thumpers and 900cc sport bikes. Currently have a FX6 sitting next to the TW for the wife and I to take on longer/faster trips.

Anyway, this is my first dualsport that I plan to commute to work on and lope down some nice forest trails after work and weekends.

Mods thus far are a 45 rear sprocket and bark busters on the bars (after a good bath and lube job it really needed).

I look forward to chatting with others here and some local enduro runs with some local folks.

ya, but it is on the short list of things to do.

Used bikes are so much fun (note sarcasm) get to fix lots of bubbaized things and ignored items.

so far mirrors, wheel bearings, and new shift-side peg mount on order. Considering brake drums and shoes next, these are really squeely yet they seem to have lots of thickness left.

my rear just started squeeling last week but like you said plenty of thickness. we had a "cold" front come through with a good amount of humidity so im guessing its just the moisture whats happenin with mine.
