I have been considering this bike since I saw one on the freeway and ended up following him to the gas station and asked the guy "how did you get a big wheel street legal?" Well after a few minutes of conversations I found that I was wrong, it was a 1999 TW200 with a XT350 motor in it. I asked how it handled, and he just said "take it for a ride around the lot here", I thought it was a joke until he handed me the helmet and asked that I dont run off with it, haha. I took it for a ride and fell in love with the bike, nimble, quick, light, and the rear tire brought a sense of safety. Parked the bike next to him and handed back the helmet. I asked where he got the bike and he said be bought it new at the dealer, but hated the stock 200 motor and ended up putting the XT motor in a few months later. I let him take my NSR street bike for a ride for good measure as well... he loved the 2 stroke, haha.

Anyways I want one now, and have been looking for info on the 350 swap... found nothing. His looked stock to me, I couldnt tell of anything abnormal, but wasnt looking that hard either. Checked around the forum and am kinda sad to see nothing about it either. The 2 motors look the same, would it really be that hard to swap?

Also how come all these in WA area are so expensive!? I see some 2010 models for more than they cost at the dealer!

I bought mine new in the fall of 09 when my dealer was having a sale. Got a sweet low financing pack and I had it paid off in about eight months. I think it was around 3900 out the door. I had to deal with the "don't you want a bigger bike lecture".

Those are some of the guys that offered to me (I put up a WTB ad) But yeah its insane! One guy in portland has a 1998 that is MINT with only about 1000 miles on it, but he is being reluctant to sell for the price he quoted me; 2000, which I still think is a bit much.

I paid $1200 for my 95 with 3600 miles on it. There are deals out there, you have to be patient and ready to jump on one when you find it.

TW's in Washington seem to be very high and most of the time overpriced. I search other states for fun and find fair and good deals on TW's. Don't know what up with Washington.

Seemed to be a lot of them in Idaho and California when I was looking for one.
