After at 2011 trip to Baja on a borrowed Super Sherpa I started looking for a circa 250cc bike of my own. My other dual sport is a Honda CT110 which is great for around town and short trips in the woods. It would not handle Baja because of the lightweight suspension, especially at speeds over 20mph. It took a year and a half but I found a 06 T-Dub with only 400 miles that was well taken care of. On the purchase date it would not start, but after setting a couple of years I figured a carb cleaning was all it needed. I was right. Two hours after getting it home it runs like a top. It has the speed and suspension I need to manage longer trips so I am already planning Baja next winter with my Sherpa buddy.
A friend gave me a big Marsee tail bag which fits like it was made for the rear rack. I installed a Coleman seat cover to soften up the seat and ordered a set of Bark Busters. For the first trip I will carry extra gas on the front rack. (One gallon will be enough for both of us).
Looking forward to finding new ideas and watching the fun these bikes can provide.
