pulled into work parking lot this morning and my oem chain finally bit the dirt. 7,250 miles for those interested.

going to replace it tomorrow. The only thing that worried me was that when it broke, I was in second gear. When it happened I killed the bike and went into neutral. Once I had the broken chain off of the rear sprokcet I pushed the 50 yards to my parking spot. when I tried to put it back in gear I couldn't get the bike to come out of neutral. maybe I am parked funny, but I was unable to do it. ended up putting a big rock behind the front tire and locking the handlbars. thoughts, suggestions?

I bet if you either start the engine, or if you don't want to do that, reach in with a finger and turn the front sprocket a little, it will slip into gear.

Worn sprockets will wear a new chain quickly. I would recommend a new o-ring chain with new sprockets. Consider whether you want to change gear ratio; if so, now would be the perfect time to do it. I purchased my new chain and sprockets from Lytle Racing, they had the best price around at that time.

without chain it well roll like it is in neutral evan if it is in gear.

^^^what he said...the front sprocket drives the chain which drives the rear wheel so without the chain on the sprockets it's just going to roll

I ordered my chain from Lytle Racing ebay store on the 13th and got it yesterday, the 14th. That's fast from Arizona to Texas. 77 dollars total delivered for a DID o ring chain, 130 links.

mine was 122 links with stock gearing...
