Animal damage control specialist. That almost sounds like you train animals for controlled damage. Perhaps sending vermin into unsuspecting idle motorcycle airboxes and tailpipes with nuts, berries and seeds for secret sabotage. A top secret government program for attack on lone survivalists or dooms day preppers.
Congratulations, I'm surprised they didn't make it Animal damage control specialist engineer. I thought I saw a lot on 162 acres. You have a lot of ground to cover. Outside every day the sunrises are beautiful.

Congrats FH but it sounds more like fluff to me. A new title, more often than not, does not come with added salary or benefits but almost always with more responsibility or a greater area.

I had an idea of a dream job here when I first retired and presented it the company. We have a very big power line that goes through my area to NY City. Along side the electric lines they recently installed an under ground gas line. The power/gas line is a TW and ATV riders dream. I would expect the company would want some sort of safety and security inspector to ride the lines either daily or at the least weekly just to report on any problems such as trees falling, rain wash outs or suspicious activity but they laughed at my proposal. All they have right now is a crew that goes out maybe twice a year just to keep the access trail road trimmed in case they need to get to a section. I thought a guy like me in a UTV like a Polaris Ranger would be just what they would want but too damn cheap was the feeling I got.

With the way things are going in this country with all the terrorism my fear is the two major resources we have right here where I live. The major power grid and the entire water supply going directly to the whole of NY City. Poisoning the water in the numerous reservoirs or taking out the major power transmission and or gas supply lines is a very real threat. As is typical with all of this stuff, these major corporations will close that barn door after the cows get out. The same conditions were present in the prison system where I did my first career. Those of us on the front lines would tell the big wigs where security was lacking and it fell on deaf ears until we had an escape or riot and then they would all point fingers in different directions. You can't fix stupid and it all boils down to dollars backed by no sense.

Nice promotion Flathats, congratulations. Let the other ditch riders take over raking the muck out of the diversion structures.

Who do you have to know to get a job like that? My former neighbor now lives in Salina, Utah, where he rides around on the Paiute ATV trail, checking the trail condition etc.
He said he would do the job for free, but being paid is a nice bonus. I haven't ever had a job that I love, but it's my own fault for sticking with a job I don't like.
