One problem with installing a oil cooler on your bike is what do you do when its to cold. I insalled a Jagg Manual By-Pass Valve allowing me to by-pass the cooler for cold weather riding or faster warm ups on cool days. Simple turn of the nob.

For some of us like myself who use our bikes hard, yes a oil cooler sure won't hurt anything.

Do these bikes really need an oil cooler?

If you do not think you need one you probably do not. I have seen measured temps 90 degees higher in the bikes I rode with that did not have a cooler.

I'm curious as to how you did the tap in for the oil lines-I think I've seen it 2 ways. Nice touch on the switched fan.

Was lucky enough to go on a ride today with a Friend. My guess was an ambient temp of 63 degrees. Nice day to ride. Long slow climb at 11mph and before I reached the top, the Vector oil temp indicator light went on (243 degrees). This was with my home made cooler. Upon turning on the fan, temp dropped to 235 within a few minutes. These little engines run very warm/hot during slow off-road climbs. Suspect if you change your oil frequently, this will never be a deal breaker. For me, modding is as much fun as ridding. Gerry

Mr Giz how do you like the Vector oil temp indicator. I know you have used others and can you show what Vector you used and the sending unit install? I found this for $87.00 Trail Tech Vector Computer Kit (CHT temp sensor on oil line belt) 85-402 from Amazon. Looking for some help.

Thanks Ronnydog

Here you are. I like the Trail Tech. Vector. Plenty of information, just need to remember how zero-out and adjust the fields. Oil temp is presented in upper right hand corner and low temp warning light is set at 243 and activates an orange led on upper left. I generally turn on the fan which starts dropping temp within a few minutes. Gerry

Where do you get the part that bolts over the oil filter?

Home Depot and Ace Hardware. I used paper as shims to space the brass so they would end up in the right direction, like a gasket.
