I just removed the OEM filter from my 2015 for my 600 mile service. The new Yamaha filter is pleated, the original is not. The ends appear the same. Good to go or do I have the wrong filter?

Original on left, new filter on right with Yamaha box and part number.

also at 600 miles you should do a valve check.

Valves checked out perfect : )

Side note, they must lots of assembly lube in the engine as the old oil that drained out had a super slick feel and the film strength was unlike any other oil I have rubbed between my fingers - felt more like grease other than it was a thin viscosity like an oil.

I had a bunch of white Teflon looking stuff in my first oil change.

Same here, stuff in the filter, mine was silver though - nonmetallic, sealant perhaps.
