I switched to castrol 4T 10w-40 which is Jasmo MA-2 for whats its worth (BTW this is new as it was MA not MA-2 until recently). Autozone has $2 off per quart so its $3.99.

I put this in the dub today and it instantly made shifting better. I have not been impressed with the shifting during break in using Yamalube. I should have used this right of the bat.

You did it the RIGHT way. Oils are much better nowadays so the breakin period is not as long as it used to be but using mineral oil instead of synthetic is the best way to allow the rings to seat. I use mobil1 4t racing and it definitely shifts smoother. That is s great deal on the castrol!

The 4T I bought is actually dino oil. I am certainly happy to have better shifting with it.

BTW I want to hear about the ktm 690 in your stable.

I am a motocrosser as some of you know. So i run Maxima SYN race blend in all my bikes. and I always notic a difference in shifting and clutch action.
I am a huge maxima fan, expensive but I find it to be worth it.
