hello everyone, that's my first post here

i've had my tw for almost a year now and i finally decided to work a bit more on the looks

that's how it looks now:

http://imgur.com/bR78s

got a front light and speedo from tw225

so this is pretty much the setup i've got now:

now, i'm looking into a more of this look:

found the japan web!ke store, and i'm thinking of ordering these parts:

seat:

http://japan.webike.net/products/1332144.html

fenders:

http://japan.webike.net/products/1326521.html

http://japan.webike.net/products/1326527.html

batteryless kit:

http://japan.webike.net/products/1520676.html

837 USD total, shipping, not too bad i think..

and i've got a few questions:

would i need anything else?

i like the original exhaust pipe, would it work with that setup?

any problems i'd need to be aware of?

and if you have any other comments/ideas, that'd be really appreciated.

thanks

Different strokes for different folks, but that is so much money for so little in return...

1) Just run a 3 or 4 or 5 Amp-hour battery in a little tray made to fit between the frame under the seat (as seen in the last picture of your post). I made a tray from some scrap aluminum I bent up, gutted the wiring and starter, and used a small battery that cost $25. I just combed the Batteries Plus aisle until I found a small one that was the size I like and had the terminal style I liked. Search this forum for pictures of trays to make.

2) Take a picture of that bike with the seat style you like to a upholster and I'm sure they could make it happen for <$100, you'd just need to find a way to mount it. Maybe make the seat frame with all mounting holes as needed then take it to the upholster (seat frame can just be plywood or plastic).

3) Fenders don't look like anything special, just time spent measuring width to find the correct fender from a bike supplier, making brackets to mount them straight and polishing to desired level (or painting).

pmtg is correct all that seat is a cut the front end and reupholstered. Rear fender is just a fender. Front is a little different but get one and get tabs welded on and its good. I might have a extra offical battery tray that can actually fit a tw battery but must be a sealed gel type so you don't have to go smaller or lose crank amps. You also need air pod and might as well get bigger jets too. new rear tail light and turn signals you need and also crank vent. Save about $500 doing that way. You can also get the gas tank in America too.

Just so your aware, webike don't actually stock any of these items themself. They order them for you, it can sometimes take a few weeks to get your parts. I ordered an extended swing arm as well as a few other bits and it took almost a month to get.

I'd have a look around for some fenders on eBay and just cut them to fit, the battery less kit is handy but nothing you can't make yourself

Good luck anyway

Hello

Again Webike is not a warehouse with parts inside but an office located in Yokohama Shi near Tokyo, you would be very disappointed by the size of their headquarters there lol

Please check availability before ordering parts because you have to pay FIRST, meaning they don't care about delay, they will just say that your part will be shipped when they receive it from manufacturer...

The only online store that got a warehouse is Goobike Parts, they're located near the station in Nagoya.

Btw, I keep Kitaco seats in my warehouse, same as American Drager but cheaper, 150€

have a great day

Hi

I think it's wiser to ask to people who live in Japan before ordering, they generally know about what websites are trustable and what are not and some know better links

cheers

hey, do you have a link or a list of what you've got in stock?

i'm based in new zealand, you can't get any parts here so i need to import them from overseas.

i'm still comparing different options and prices, and that's why i started this topic.

i may be getting fenders a bit later then. will see how the setup is going to look like first.

could you give me some more info/links to the small sealed gel battery that'd fit '90 tw?

again, i'm based in new zealand, there's no parts here, so i'll need to get them from either us or japan.

one more thing, why air pod and bigger jets?

thanks

Well are you trying to set up your bike like a tracker bike? Check out the forum under "hollow mods" In order to get rid of the airbox you need to either make or buy a battery tray. The battery must be able to fit under the seat. Their are different sized for the battery tray so the battery size will depend on the box. Why a air pod? Your getting rid of the airbox so you need a filter hence air pod filter. If your lucky you won't need them but when you put on a air pod filter the bike will get more air so you need more fuel to balance the mixture. If you get a battery get a gel or sealed type since it will be laying on its side.

i've found a whole set:

http://japan.webike.net/products/1791096.html

is it enough?

also, they've got 10% off and free shipping for the next couple days.

in my local 'ebay' there's no parts to tws at all.. if you have any other links, it'd be greatly appreciated.

my plan is to strip the bike first, leave it pretty much barebones first

and once this is done, i'd look into getting the fenders and more accessories, to get something similar to the one i posted in the first post.
