PhotoBucket has recently changed its Terms of Use agreement.

In addition to banner ads, sidebar ads, and pop up ads you are:

No longer are you permitted to link your photos to forums without paying for their high dollar account.

The ransom fee is $400 USD per year.

I have been using PhotoBucket for 15 or more years and have couple thousand photos there....the majority motorcycle related.

I am in the process of deleting my photos and trying to find another host.

My advice is not to use PhotoBucket in any way.

Fairly sure ToS for such sites essentially gives them ownership rights... as soon as they are uploaded = not your photo. I could be wrong.

I used to use photo something or other, ( I don't remember which it was ) until about a bit over a year ago. Then they required me to join fakebook, whichh I refused to do.
They would not let me delete my photos or even look at MY OWN PHOTOS unless I joined that fake book outfit. They basically stole about a hundred photos from me and won't let me even look at my own stuff unless they get confirmation that I have joined the fake book outfit.
I do not recommend putting any photos Ito any of these on line accounts because this is what will happen. I do not know what they do with my photos but When I went there to find out, there was derogatory messages against me.

With the Dow heading for 65,000 in the next 2 years everybodies positioning for an IPO and they probably need to show a revenue stream of which there will be zero and photobubket always sucked IMO you can host your own pics on your own site for a few bucks a month

you could get a gmail.fake-email and join fakebook as Ned Flanders to retrieve your pics then post some good porn so they delete Ned's account lol

I really wish this site's photo controls would play friendly with Google Photos URLs, but I won't hold my breath on that one.

I use Smugmug, have for years and its always been great. They have plans starting at 4 bucks a month if you pay on an annual basis. They don't have terms of service that include them owning your stuff and they have unlimited uploads and dont dumb down your pics. no ads either. I have the power account that is ~70 bucks for the year, the basic is under 50.

The guy that created Smugmug is Baldy who also started ADVRider.com, its owned by his sons now.

If a product is free then you are the product. I expect to loose my rights to the pics I upload on this site...
The thing i dont like about those types of ToS is they can use your photo for any commercial purpose with no compensation due to you.

I personally do not upload to this site, i link from mine where i still maintain control and can remove them at will. Granted i cant stop people from stealing them but at least im not giving up all control.

I also refuse to pay PhotoBuckets Ransomware $400 fee to be able to post pictures on forums.
All my thousands of pictures posted on dozens of forums and threads are now gone.
Yes I had a paid account so I'm not just being cheap, I realize it costs money to host pictures and I am willing to pay.

I have set up an account with SmugMug for the 14 day free trial and I sent a question to them asking if their Basic account has a limit on how many pictures I can post on forums.

This may put PB out of business and I am sad to say I hope it does.

EXTORTION is the correct word!

Can I ask if you can grab a link from Google Photos that can be inserted between IMG tags and show up in a post? If so, how?

I tried to figure it out on an iPad a while back and had no luck.

I don't know how it works with an iPad but with Windows if it is a photo on a webpage with other text and photos you can right click on the photo, scroll down to properties and click on that then copy the URL for the photo and paste using the image tool above. If it is just a photo you can just copy and past the page URL

example from this webpage: Yamaha TW200 Scrambler by Sean SpeedShop ? BikeBound

TANSTAAFL. But, money isn't the only way to pay for a service. That's why I don't mind seeing ads on sites that provide value without having to pay directly; the ads are the payment.
PB was getting entirely too intrusive with their ads though, to the point that it inhibited functionality. I guess this will finally kill PB. Good riddance IMO.
