During a ride this past weekend, I was "two-up" with my wife on the back when we reached this nasty big hill. Everything was going fine, except that I didn't have quite enough revs going into it and she started to ping about 3/4 of the way up. It was too steep to stop, so I just kept going, with the poor little engine pinging away for about another 30 seconds before I reached the top.

Now I know that pinging is not something you want to encourage or a full-time basis (and I don't) but I am just curious if I might have done any major damage with this?

She ran OK for the rest of the day...

I've spent most of a hot day 'pinging' (in Australian slang that has a different meaning.....
) with the Mrs on the back and loaded up. That was over 10,000k's ago - so doing it once, is nothing to worry about.

LOL...I clicked on this, thinking it was a new topic and thought to myself, Hey...I can relate to this! Then I realize it was my original post!

As I recall at the time, I WAS in first gear (it was a really steep hill)....
