If you own and have used one, please let me know if you are happy with your hitch carrier. I’d like to spend in the $250 to $400 range. Thanks!

amishgeoff,
Well Sir, I have one that we use, and just completed a 2,500 mile trip around the western U.S. with. It was mounted on the back of our motorhome, carrying the T-dub and, towing our Jeep. It worked outstanding. I got it used from a friend. I paid $300 for it and it was/is in perfect shape. It's incredibly easy to load and unload on that one. Oh, by the way, it's a "Versa Hauler" and, this one came with the ramp that's stored right on the hauler. I'd recommend those in a heartbeat.

VersaHaul hands-down.
New you'll pay a bit more than you wanted. But as you can see used in your price range is doable.

Frikken perfect. Especially if you ever need to haul anything bigger and heavier than a TDub.
Don't know what you are hauling with but make sure you take into account the weight of the VersaHaul itself (which ain't light) along with the weight of the bike.
