I paid $1,800 for a 1999 a little over a year ago. Way way higher than Kelly Blue Book that that's how TW's are in most of the country. They seem to sell high. You should be able to get dealer retail for the used price in KBB. Depending.

it's not so much that TW's sell high as it is Kelley Blue Book is low. The BB supports insurance companies and auto dealers not the retail buyer and Kelley admits the prices are based on "algorithm's" and not on actual motorcycle sales figures

Good point. I like to use Craig's as a starting point for figuring out what stuff is worth also. I should have also mentioned that mine only had 1400 miles so that was a factor in my paying a little more.

Your bike could easily sell for more stateside as your modifications are popular here. Sorry, know nothing of Japanese market.

Checking Craigs for Motorcycles brought up about 8 in Tokyo. Zere on Yamaha TW200.

Since there's none on Craig's, if it was me doing it, I'd still search around for where ever they sell used stuff over there and see what other people are getting. Maybe even a used TW200 at a dealer? Then price it down a little based on condition etc.

Do you ship to the states? Just kidding :0)

I see you have a xt250 tank and seat, that bike with all those mods would fetch $2000 here easy...and close to $2500 parted on ebay. New TW's are north of $4000 nowadays, If you are only getting $1500 on average it must be a supply and demand issue (too much supply, not enough customers) in Japan
