thanks for the information. I'm going to order one today, I just have to decide what color.

Two more questions. 1) did you cut your bars down (width wise) I'm assuming that is person prefrence. 2) when you got the EMGO 12V outlet was it for a certian make or model of bike? I looked online and they are listed to fit all the street bikes. Does it make a difference?\

Got bars and grips on order. Thanks again.
It is personal preference like you said. I saw no need for cutting them down. And I bought the emgo 12v outlet with the cigarette lighter and bar mount. I really like how it looks (you ca see it in one of my pics above). One minor gripe, the cigarette lighter top broke off and the one bottom part fell in. I didn't notice until the next day when my battery was dead

the one place I looked at them there was several different bike models listed. I'm guess that any or all of them will fit the 7/8 bar with a little persuasion.

Thanks again.
Well, I did it. I got excited and ordered the parts and yesterday had a sick kid at home so I had some time. WOW! love the change I should have done this when I got the bike, I'll get some miles on it when I get off work and get the bugs out. Thanks to all you guys espcially PalmStateCrawler for putting up with all my questions and giving me great feedback. As soo as I figure out how to post pictures I will put some up here. If your thinking about this upgrade DON'T, just do it.
Having these bars and a goldenboy front tire makes a huge difference riding offroad. It is actually comfortable to stand and ride and the tire provides great traction and less wash outs. It also helps to have some decent brush guards. I'm sure you will love your "new" bike!

I just installed the Pro Taper ATV High bars and could not be happier! I am 6ft tall so I needed the extra height so that when I stand I am not hunched over so much. These bars allow me to stand nice and tall and IMO make the bike look better. Installation was easy however I would recommend for bikes older than 2002 to replace the clutch perch with the newer 2 piece perch, much easier to install and only cost $28. Your existing mirror and clutch lever will fit the new perch. I moved the clutch cable to the left side of the speedometer for a little more play as well.

BumbleBee, that is one good lookin bike!!!
OOPS, double post... sorry
Has any used eastion bars and clamps? There have some great deals going on right now. I was thinking about the Cr high bend with the zero off set universal clamps. I have them on my DRZ and they are a fantastic fat bar.
Are the easton clamps something that adapts from 7/8" to 1-1/8" bars?? If so, they should work.

I put Fly Aero 1-1/8" bars on mine with a PowerMadd adjustable adapter. See them here: Fly Aero

I'm very happy with them, I'm 6'4" and these make the bike much more comfortable.
Looking good! I like how the crossbar pad matches the bike. Good call on the newer 2-piece perch. Thanks for letting us know it fits.
ATV bars, but High or Mid? I'm 5" 10" but am tall above the waste. With normal legs I'd be 6" 2".

EDIT: Answered by own questions with another search. Looks like others bought the "High"

Not to hijack this thread. What parts and how did you do that four mirror set up. I am back on the street and like the idea of those two mirrors at the bottom of the bar. Thanks. MBW

if you are talking about this setup...it's just the regular mirrors with a set of cheap ebay bar end mirrors clamped onto the bars (you just don't use the part that goes inside the bar ends)...click on my bike thread in my signature for more info
