If this a repost I am sorry. I just spent 5 days in Quartzsite. It is a very Rocky area has anyone on here been there on a TW before. It does not look very fun on a Bike. We had 1 bike in our group mostly RZR'z and he was not having a good time most oof the rides.

I hope you had fun! We were in Quartzsite last February and plan on going again in about a month. Everybody says how rocky it is and I guess I just expect it being in the desert and all. Oh sure, there are some really rough areas but the same can be said for Moab or just about anywhere. Here is just one of the videos I put together from last February.

To avoid the colder winter temperatures, we're planning on beelining it straight to Q once we get on the road later in January only stopping to sleep on the way. We won't even have the TWhauler de-winterized until we get to Q.
While our travel plans are not set in concrete or water, I think our general plan after Q is to ride toward and in New Mexico. This will most likely route our return to home port further east through Colorado. But you never know. The Dogskins are on my list of places to ride one day for sure! :)
Still lots of cold and snow here in Colorado in the early spring. We get most of our snow march to june. This year could be different though. If you do make it into CO, let me know and we will see if Devon and I can meet up with you.

We visited a buddy of mine last week that just bought a second house down in Havasu. We rode Havasu area and North of Quartzsite. You guys must know the secret areas because we were in his 22 4 seat RZR and I would not want to be on any kind of motorcycle. Trails where rutted out and SXS where bombing through them. Dust was brutal

Last year was bad, this year will probably be worse.

Change of plans for us. Mrs. TR is no longer coming along and the Vegas part of the trip is out. I'll likely just drive straight to Quartzsite from Houston. Turns out I have to go to Kuwait in mid March and Mrs. TR would rather spend the time she can travel on a side trip to Amsterdam than in Quartzsite. Go figure. Not sure of arrival date now. May be a week later than originally planned.

We are here in Quartzite, LTVA. I'm slow to see this thread, but hope I get a chance to ride with everyone, this year.
Here’s our countdown clock. See you when we get there.

Looking forward to riding with you again. I take it we no longer have to refer to you as 1/2 peg?

We'll keep you and Devon and CO on our agenda. If it works out weather wise that would be great to meet and/or ride with you two! (y)

Too bad about Mrs. TR, I was hoping to meet her. I'm guessing she was suspicious of the whole "biker gang thing"! :) Would she change her mind if we offered her some "boxed wine"? :)
Anyway, looks like we'll all have a fun time between riding in Quartzsite and in the Pohonix areas.

I'm trying to talk her into flying in to Phoenix the 17th. We'd spend the weekend in Phoenix itself and then a few days camping wherever the gang ends up Sunday. We'll see.

It's the boxed wine incentive isn't it? :) Really, I hope she can!

Almost ready to leave.
A bit more packing to do.
Loaded camper, got trailer out of back yard and trailer attached as today was a beautiful day between the rain fronts.
Dentist on Friday and hopefully I will be on the road early Saturday.
Plotted a course south that has me filling up at Costcos that have diesel.

Seeing you just about ready to leave is making me jealous. I haven't been on two wheels since early November with TomT and Donzo down in the Pohonix area. We are ready to leave but not prepared to leave. Lori has a lot of stuff laid out ready to be "transported" down to the camper but we have a lot more to go for the Big Winter/Spring Trip of 2023!

P.S. I only wish we could have our TWhauler up here to load out instead of down at the in-laws. What a pain to transport all our stuff down to the camper from here. But it will be worth it! :)
