I just recently hooked up with some very good friends (Navy buddies) from 35 years ago. I swiped....er borrowed photos from their Facebook pages along with my own to make a slide show. These are flight deck photos (mostly) and the guys I worked with, and the job we did. V-2 division catapults on the USS Coral Sea. Some of them are no longer with us. We lived, bled and fed together as brothers. Aside from fatherhood, the badge I wear most proudly is that of being a U.S. Navy Veteran and Coral Sea Sailor.

VERY COOL!!! What ARE all those guys doing to that Crusader? Holding up a wing to change a tire? :p

Wonderful Pics!!!!!
The RF-8G's or crusaders had a caster type front main mount, and when we spotted them on the cat sometimes the wheel would get sideways. So we'd have to "pushback" the plane far enough he could use his engine to re align. It was rare to do a pushback, but the crusaders were notorious for this due to the design of the landing gear.
