Since you obviously know...would it have been that much work to actually quote the number, instead of sending me on some great chase?

Not trying to be a dick, but it likely took more time to type out your reply AND paste the links than it would to simply say: "6203"

Just sayin...

I think the point was he was trying to teach you something. So now you know how to go look up parts on your own. I'm sure he appreciates your ridicule though.

That was hardly "ridicule"

I am well aware of how to look up part numbers and such. The whole point of my inquiry was that maybe someone had done this recently and could quote the number off the top of their head.

I know that if I have information that someone needs, I would likely tell them instead of giving them links to 100 Google searches or the manual and tell them "it's in there"...

Yeah, I know....it's the give-a-man-a-fish, sort of thing. But here I thought the whole point of this website was to share information and experiences.

Never mind...I'll see for myself when I remove them.

Yeah it took me under a minute to make my first post.

Check my posts and see how many times I've posted links for people who can't seem to find stuff.. It gets old after a while.

If I I went and asked what brake pads or oil filter do I need for my ford ranger over on the rangerstation forum I would get flamed by about 50 people for not looking it up myself.

I even gave you a link to the a yamaha dealers part page. I don't know if there is a difference but you never even posted the year of bike.

Seems like a few folks need to read/reread a post by the very wise and all around pleasant guy Mrgizmow

"I read many of the questions and answers posted here. Lots of the questions have been asked and answered many times. Some folks seem to resist spending much time looking, others expend the energy but find the results lacking.

We now have a forum that enables us to "sticky". In my mind, it would be silly to sticky "how to air-up a tire" but likely of more value, "how to change a tire" which would include the airing-up process.

There is soooo much that can be gathered then CONDENSED to form a sticky that could really help alot of folks. In doing this, you help others as much as others have helped you. Pulling information from this forum's many posts regarding carburetor adjustment, then condensing it into a "very helpfull" sticky makes future search's by others much easier and as well, makes this forum even BETTER.

I realize, some of you are here for a moment, and some of you are very busy. Might I be so bold as to suggest; some of you are, demanding and lazy...

Might I be so bold as to extend a personal point of view; Nothing on this planet works with out someone willing to expend some (above and beyond) energy.

If you have benefited from this (or any other) forum, give something back... Adventure pictures, a 1,2,3 on a mod, compile lots of 'random' tech information into a 'sticky'.

In my opinion; to take, take, take, and then leave with out giving back (somewhere) is selfish and nets 'US' nothing.

By "a few folks", I suppose you mean ME. Fair enough, albeit a tad presumptuous.

I can understand that answering "the same questions over and over again" might get to be a bit annoying, but then again, you always have the option of NOT answering. I'd rather get NO answer, than a sermon about the evils of asking questions. I don't remember asking for YOUR help, specifically...so telling me how many times YOU'VE posted links for others is neither important nor relevant. If YOU are fed up with helping others, just stop...it really IS that easy!

Furthermore, I could understand your annoyance if this was a question from some newbie who flies in, asks a question and then disappears for 6 months until he/she has another problem...but I've been a member of this forum since July of 2010, as well as being a contributing member of the old forum for several years as well.

A quick glance at my profile would show this AS WELL AS the fact that I am most active in the TECHNICAL section, where I contribute plenty of information (without the patronizing) to other members. If the question has been asked numerous times before, I'll usually just ignore the post - what a concept! But if it is a self-proclaimed newbie, making his/her first post...I'll answer the question (if I'm able to) and THEN maybe point them towards the STICKY threads or the Google searches.

My point? Answer the question if you can...but don't bother if you feel that:

i) it has been asked too often

ii) it is beneath you

iii) if you simply don't want to

but spare us the pontificating...it only detracts from the otherwise helpful nature of this forum.

...and for the record, the REAR WHEEL bearings are 6203 (x2) and 6203LU (x1).

See this post? http://tw200forum.com/forums/86725/ShowPost.aspx Notice how the guy was GRATEFUL for the simple response without the brow-beating?

I dont think its that serious. Just accept the answer and appreciate the fact that theres guys out there like Rich that will "teach you to fish". I bet next time before you ask a similar question you will look for it in the manual. You usually cannot tell someones tone through text so just assume its always good and have a Merry Christmas!

If you give a man a fish, he will not be hungry for a day. If you teach a man to fish, he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day, then tell lies about the one that got away all night. How does that benefit anyone other than the brewer? On the other hand, if you build a man a fire, he will be warm while telling lies about the one that got away for a night, but if you set a man on fire, he'll be warm for the rest of his life, and he won't be drinking all your beer or fishing out your favorite honey hole.
