Rocky,
First I gotta say I like your avatar. Pretty creative. By the way, my avatar is from the Packer John ride and we (me, Georgie and Truelight), are parked near the B-47 crash site which is off to our left out of sight.
Bender Creek is one of the trail heads for the Danskin OHV trails system. This trail head is just off Blacks Creek Rd, generally East of Lucky Peak & Arrow Rock reservoirs near Boise. You can reach the trail head off I-84 Blacks Creek exit. Good trail riding for someone who is better than a beginner. I say that because I consider myself a pretty good intermediate rider and it was fairly challenging, mainly because of the snow. However, even with good trail conditions, there are some steep sections with sharp hairpin turns which can be tricky. There is a mix between ATV trails and single track motorcycle trail. The single track tends to be more advanced in my opinion. I made a photo/video of this ride in the adventure forum under "Bender Creek Ride" or something like that. Shows the are pretty good, snow and all!
Peel Tree is a Forest Service A-frame rental off U.S. 93 between Challis and Salmon which we rented and was our riding base camp. It's still a good drive to get there from Haily, but well worth it. It's on FS Rd 045 up Iron Creek, with the turn off just before Elk Bend. It's also near Sheep Horn Lookout which is also a FS rental. Great area to ride. We spent 3 days or so at the a-frame and only saw about 6 people, and that was all on the same day.
Take care and happy riding.
