Seems the Connecticut Supreme Court ruled there can be a wrong full death law suit over the Sandy Hook shooting because a Remington Bushmaster was used.
The nails are being gathered for the gun ownership coffin!!:(

What is the "Remington Bushmaster"?
Semi-auto, I'd assume.

The lawsuit centers around Remington's semi-auto Bushmaster AR-15 ACR platform but will tarnish everything with the Bushmaster moniker from Remingtons sporting 742 in 30.06 through all the firearms chambered for the Bushmaster 450 cartridge whether they be single shot, bolt action, or semi-auto. Won't matter to the uninformed public whether it has a wood stock or the dreaded modular "assault weapon" configuration, the name Bushmaster itself may well become a media poison buzzword and shorthand for many a thing it is not..

Just some publicity hungry ambulance chasing law firm being funded by the anti-gun lobby to put the shits up the gun manufacturers – storm in a tea cup – it’ll never stand up in court

Unless someone decides to sue Remington for a round not chambering correctly in the Bushmaster 450 SD of course ……

I am suing the Parker Pen Company. Somebody with a Parker Pen wrote me a letter that hurt my feelings. Not all wounds can be seen. It affects my ability to wake up and be responsible for myself and my actions. I am contemplating a Go Fund Me page.

...or was it a Cross Pen? I have been victimized so much I do not know who to sue first.

Wait...it may have been an email. Microsoft?

I'm afraid if this is allowed to go forward it will open up a Pandora's box of lawsuits.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and I respect yours. My opinion is that despite the horrible actions of any particular psychopath with any particular means, I still have MY rights. It is also my opinion that the Constitution is not malleable. Supreme court justices cannot decide what is Constitutional - they can only interpret words they did not write. Please read The Federalist Papers to let the men who wrote the Constitution tell you why they wrote what they did.

When I need my half-baked gun argument & half-baked political opinions fix I prefer FaceBook to the TW200 Forum.

Again, perhaps respecting the idea of another person's opinion instead of insulting it could be considered. This thread is in the "Off Topic" section. As I understand it - that specifically refers to non-TW200 discussion.

Respect is a big thing for me. If this topic starts to pick up too much speed down the slope......Purple please close it! I did not post this to start hard feelings but to make my fellow forum members aware of something I think is very important.

No worries, if this starts to go downhill it will end up in the bin, just keep it polite and we're fine - it's good to get this out of our systems sometimes, and I'm no exception to that (as you will see). As far as I can see, the OP has a perfectly valid point to make

The only reason for closing or deleting a thread is if it gets "out of hand" - and to that end, everyone's (continued) co-operation is appreciated .......

How about rather than taking a socialist perspective by suggesting that a central authority deny everyone's rights to contribute openly in an off-topic forum why not simply urge individual responsibility? Freedom, respect and individual responsibility for one's actions can keep America and this forum great. Asking Purple or any entity to dictate what can be read or written will make this forum about as exciting as watching the good old days of Venezuela's Hugo Chavez's rambling 4 hour long daily TV shows or listening to only his state sponsored music.:p

Anti- "surrender to central authority" diatribe over.

Fred is a wise man. I really don't see how this lawsuit is anything past a political stunt, honestly. Any manufacturer of anything cannot be held liable for misuse of their products. This is why EVERYTHING has a warning label on it. As far as firearms manufacturers are concerned - The Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act was created in order to de-rail frivolous cases like this. The only real intent is to drain funds from whomever the case is against. They are basically claiming that Remington knowingly promoted it's products as mass-murdering death devices. I personally have never seen that commercial, or read that advertisement.
