ok i have a 1998 tw and a 2001 without a title,, i want to install the right hand handlebar switch and throttle tube asy from the 2001 to the 98 bike,,, im doing this so i can put the front disk brake on the 98 bike,, i see the wiring connectors are different the 98 has three wires and the 2001 has four. what to do??? also what is needed for this throttle asy...thanks

so i take it nobody here has switched over a drum brake bike to a disk brake setup,and used the new style switches from a 2001 and above?

You should probably replace the whole front end - forks, wheel, bar. The forks on your '98 won't have the proper mounting tabs for the disk brake from the '01. Anyone, correct me if I'm wrong.

im going to use the forks and wheel and brake system from the 2001 just looking if anybody mated the right hand switch from the 2001 to a early style switch (1998)

"Disc brake conversion requires lower left fork leg ( fork tubes and right fork leg are all the same) front wheel with disc, master cylinder with hose, splicing of brake light switch wires (old style plug soldered to new style switch) and ideally the newer kill/starter switch. Your starter button will end up pointing downward with the old style."
