For drivers, road rage does not need any introduction. But for those who do not understand this phenomenon, road rage is the aggressive and out-of-the-ordinary behavior of some drivers. It could be the result of years of piled up anger, road gridlock, stress, loud music, tailgating and making obscene gestures to other drivers, etc.

Whatever the case may be, one thing is for sure: road rage is not worth it. Here is an incident narrated by a reddit user,

“I didn't see what caused the incident, however I saw the motorcycle rider come right along side the car and made some gestures towards the driver in the car and then the motorcycle rider kicked the side of the car. The bike tried to speed away but the car followed. The car ended up rear ending the guy on the bike and drove right over him. I stopped and helped as much as I could until paramedics arrived, however the motorcycle rider eventually died at the hospital.”

Glad to be a senior and no longer in any rush. I pulled into traffic and had to merge into the lane and the guy behind me felt that I cut him off. At the next traffic light the rage filled driver gets out of his car with a tire iron in hand and starts coming toward me. He changed his mind really fast when he saw that I was well prepared but there are way too many stressed out drivers out here who are complete nut jobs. These days anyone who wants to be in front of me is welcome to it and I don't have any hand gestures to share with the nuts.

Too many rats in the cage.
Actually Silverwing, Too many rats OUT of their cages and allowed to roam free and who knows what type of weapons they might have. I got flipped off just yesterday by a gal who ran a stop sign and I never honked or did anything but jamb my breaks on for her. Here in NY we have a "Move Over" law when you see an emergency vehicle on the side of the road with lights flashing. In the local paper a cop had a car pulled over and got side swiped by a gal who ran and when she did get pulled over she was over the limit with alcohol and pain pills. They walk among us and they drive and this one also had no insurance on her unregistered vehicle. Her bail was set at $10,000 and not nearly enough IMO.

On a MC I would have turned around and got as far away from that asshole as I could in the opposite direction.

People are crazy. It's just not worth it. Take a moment: breathe in, breathe out... Repeat. One stupid reaction can change lives forever, with no chance for a "do-over."
