Went for a ride this morning. About 35min from my house. Mostly paved country roads until about 10 miles from the river.



Some pics....

Ran into some quicksand riding close to the river. Kept the throttle in it, and attempted to hop off, but sank half way up my boots. So got back on the bike pushed from the saddle and it make it out. front and read wheels werepass the axles. After i got free you could not even tell i had rode through that area. No trace of my tracks....... but made it home safely and learned a lesson....

Did you take a pic of the quicksand? It's been a long time since I've seen any.

No I was just happy to get out with out any issues. Next time I ride that way ill get some shots.....





And yes it was/is warm here today. Waiting for the rain to start so its about 70f with high humidity.

Reminds me of some of my old stomping grounds back in Eastern North Carolina. I don't miss the rain, but I sure do miss the water.

Ran into some quicksand

The color of the water in your 3rd picture reminds me of the color of the water in the TV show Ax Men where the S & S boy's do the water logging . I've never seen quicksand, other than in the movies and TV shows. And if avoiding snakes, spiders, panthers, bears, and wild hogs etc. weren't enough to worry about!

Looked like a fun ride, and way warmer than here! Thanks for sharing.

Pretty close to the same water. We are about 4-5hrs from where they do that logging on the Swannee river. This creek was WAY up when comaperd to normal. I went on this same river last year on a canoe trip withmy 2 boys. I had to walk most of the 15 miles due to the water being to low. Im trying ti find a few better places to ride off road. I really enjoy riding the dirt roads and tails.

I have a local creek that has sand I ride in but no quick sand. I've never seen quicksand and would love to see pics of it too.

In the 4th picture you can see part of it. Its at the point where the sand bar, water and edge of picture meet. It looks like wet sand. For the most part it is, and it will have a bottom but it will be at least 3' deep. Along these creeks theres plenty. Its fun to attempt to run across and see how far you can get. Theres no harm of sinking just being stuck. Ive lost a many a pair of flip-flops and water shoes to them. And one boot as well.
