RUSTY HANDLE BARS

I have imported 25 TW200's to the USVI with a plan to open a small shop.

I have been tearing each one down, cleaning, polishing, etc

clean inside of gas tanks

recover seats

change oil

grease swingarms

etc

I have a pile of handlebars which need some TLC

I am considering powdercoating them all ??

anyone have thoughts on powdercoating vs new bars ??

I am installing Cycleracks on ALL BIKES which Don has done in RED for me, so I thought RED handlebars would look very Caribbean ??

I also have a pile of exhausts ?

I have 20 gas tanks from all years !!

Stockpile of carburetors which all need some love !

I assume these will be rental bikes for tourists? Good idea. You might get good price on powdercoating a bunch of bars together. Good luck.

Acid dip to remove rust and powdercoating will be the most resistant to corrosion. My only concerns would be since powder is thicker than paint, will the clamps and switches and such still fit, and if a switch needs to ground (I don't think any do) powder does not conduct electricity.
