The 125 version of the Madass has 55W projector beams. Has anyone actually ridden behind a pair of them?

They're fairly cheap and they could potentially solve my front rack building issues, but I'd rather not get my riding impressions of them from the 35mph scooter crowd.

Hot dark haired asin chick in ebay add!! I damn near bought the lights then & there! Turns out she is not an assesory mounting bracket, so I need to think about it...

All kidding aside, they run on scooters w/ that wattage? I could see giving them a go, any issues with power consumption you can think of? Lemme know your thoughts, I might try 'em out. m.

I'm more interested in their effectiveness. The Sachs is a Chinabike when all's said and done, but ya never know. They look as if they'd be fairly compact and sheltered once mounted.

With my large round headlight a 35W bulb delivers as much usable light as the stock rectangular light with a 55W, but it's a bit large to deal with below an above-headlight rack as the top of the beam pattern gets a little cut off. I've never ridden behind projectors of any kind but I'm assuming they're more narrowly focused and will "get out" past the rack before fanning.

I'm going back to the late model charging system with my new motor so the 55W won't be much of an issue.

"The 55w stacked projector beam headlights are straight out of the Streetfighter Bike Builder’s handbook. I prefer a wider field of view and found the low beam lighting to be a bit insufficient for my tastes. This gives me an excuse to begin customizing, I suppose."

Tanks for the links.

I found this mod to chill out the low beam. Maybe they're better than I thought:

The Photons look ok. But also out of China.

I made a few calls to some Sachs dealers. Seems the parts and service situation is on par with other Chinese bikes and knockoffs being peddled in this country, which is to say it's non-existent and barely English-speaking. "We no have pots (parts). You call Sachs." Peirsport is the U.S. importer, and they say you have to go through the dealers if you want parts.

I asked one dealer about the light output. "Sully, I no ride motocycles." In my experience that translates to "My uncle made me come to this country to run his import buisiness."

Pity, I've heard good things about the bike itself.
