Some of you may be familiar with the TW I have built over the past few months. This is her on a trip up to Stockton beach three hours north of Sydney in Australia where you can legally ride/ drive quad bikes, ATVs, horses, camels etc. Pretty much anything goes as long as you get a $10 permit. Here are some photos and videos of us having the time of our life bombing round the sand dunes for a wk end.

This is the beast on the dunes. Stockton beach is the largest sand mass in the Southern Hemisphere or at least Australia. Lots of sand is all you need to know really.

This my buddy who has a suzuki DR650 which flipped on top of him on the soft sand and burnt a nasty hole through his pants onto his leg. We assume this what Mars or looking for Atlantis must look and feel like as there is literally nothing but sand and ocean for miles and miles. It's unreal.

This is a ship wreck that washed up here in a 1974 storm that has been here ever since. She's slowly rusting away these days but still gives you a real weird vibe as you ride past it. The beach itself is obviously quite dangerous too and we found out it is a breeding ground for great whites so it was lucky we didn't get in there for a swim haha

Got ourselves a go-pro vid of the trip courtesy of my buddy Ryan on the DR650 and also my mate Simon who is on the Suzuki DRZ 400 which struggled through the sand with the narrow tyres. There are some funny bits (falls) in the video that are worth watching for laughs, otherwise all in all a great wk end was had on the TW which was the definite winner in terms of managing the sand which it did very well. Let me know what you think.

Cheers, Slinky

Can you post your vid in different format? Maybe put it on YouTube.

The jump video is here on photobucket here: http://i1174.photobucket.com/albums/r616/slink-ee/IMG_2024.mp4

Unfortunately Slinky's 6 minute youtube video has a music track that is copywritten and the owners of the song have banned it from playing in the US. Lame on the mega media giants. Its a freaking riding video. I've had this happen on videos of mine too (blocked in other countries) even when I name the track In The Video and claim that "I do not own the rights to the song" and that its "for a personal video" etc.

@Slinky... Great Looking Bike!

That does look a fun place to ride. Riding in the sand is fun and really tests your skills. Good to hear your Tdub made us proud! Mike

Oh bummer, I had this problem the other day sharing the vid with a friend from the states. I'll see what I can do but you should definitely be able to see my little sand hop just by literally clicking on the picture.

We let almost all the air out of the tires so they would run better on the sand. That's why they look so big. Pretty sure they're stock though.
That looks like lots of fun. Are those tires bigger than the stock TW tires? Are they 4 ply or 6 ply? What air pressure do you run? How do you think the TW does in the sand?

Thanks,
