heres some pics of the plug i just pulled from my tw... it looks halfway between white and black, but there is crud on the rim.. im not very experience with how lean or rich the bike is supposed to be but im trying very hard




does this look good?



am i doing it right?

Looks fine to me. Could be a tad hot....supposedly a light tan is ideal, and part of the insulator looks like that. I would not worry about the small amount of black carbon on the rim. You did not say how long that plug had been in there. It could be cleaned up with a little Scotch Brite, or, being so inexpensive, simply replaced.



Plug color is only a rough guide to carb tuning anyway, and only if looked at after a WOT cut. See the pinned thread on carb tuning for more in-depth ideas.



Assuming you are running at sea level with the stock jet it's likely to be a little lean, but I would not worry until temps hit 90+ and you go up a long hill or in sand.
