My shifter seal is leaking oil.

I have seen videos of the seal being removed and replaced without taking the cover off.

Is this the same with the TW?

I am getting conflicting part numbers. Is this correct for a 2001 (93102-12321-00) ?

Unfotunately, you'll need to remove the side cover.

While you're at it, you might as well replace the output shaft seal, and maybe the support bearing seal as well.

If either of these seals is leaking, oil can run down and drip out by the shifter.

I replaced two shifter seals before I figured out it was my output shaft seal that was leaking. :BangHead:

Take a look at your front sprocket while you've got it out, it might need replacing as well.

Have fun! :eek:ccasion14:

Thanks for the info. I ordered a complete oil seal kit from Winderosa.

Spin that output shaft's outer bearing too. If at all sandy or gritty now is the time to replace it. Pulling said bearing is not easy but not impossible, I used a modified Harbor Freight bearing puller that is available to loan..PM me if needed.
Ooops, noticed CJ7Pilot mentioned the output shaft support bearing seal as well but not the bearing itself. Odd, figured a guy who runs a bearing business would be always trying to sell bearings...must just be an honest guy.:)
