Last nites trip up thru and around short creek not far from home base in wasilla alaska. Here when you roll into fall each sunny day gets more precious and more exquisite with the delicate smell of fall and decaying berries and xylene and xanthophyll in the air. Mountainsides turn red and pink and brown and the air in the mountain areas gets down into the 30s. Took this trip around short creek drainage. From the top you can see the expanse of the susitna river all the way to denali and foraker and out to mt susitna and fire island and you can really see how the world fits together. Thees trips are the icing on the cake of the best summer I can remember in all my 40 trips around the sun. You feel lucky to be alive and lucky to live here and lucky to own a bike. Despite the fact that youre way out in BFE your up high enough that you get 4 bars on a phone. Only one person called me while I was out, and it was one of the rare people who I actually like to talk to! Everything on this trip was wonderful. Set a couple geocaches while I was out and about. Includes some footage of the willow creek through trestle bridge for all the old bridge junkies. Video should be viewable about an hour after this post.

Heres the video, Ill try and post some photos I shot and write a little more later.

Please click the youtube icon in the bottom left of the screen and watch it full screen. This site doesnt allow embeds so I cant put it full screen on the page.

Truely magical experiences you share, many thanks. You have a good set-up for video-biking, very nice. Hopefully you will entertain us with some more fall videos before you park the bike and put on ice skates ( we like those videos too).

You are so lucky to have the opportunity in such wild and wonderful places. I am immensely envious. Happy travels and be safe, or at least try.

Glad you all liked it. This year im putting carbides in my tires and ill be doing as much riding in the winter as I do in the summer. Theres actually more winter riding to do than there is in summer since theyre are just freaking oodles of packed snomachine trails that go places that are inaccessible in summer.
