Should I replace the base gasket--2006

I shouldn't have to ask myself this question(because I had previously decided to proactively replace), but what is the likely hood of the base gasket on my 2006 leaking in the future? I currently have 131 miles. I can feel that the two halves of the lower case where the cylinder mates are uneven. I have the plastics, seat, tank, and exhuast off for other modifications, so I was going to replace the base gasket. I am over reacting, or is there a high likely hood of a future leak?

Thanks,

Dusty

If it's the original gasket, it is definitely going to leak. Grit your teeth and replace it.

Personally I wouldn't replace it if it is not currently leaking. It's not like one of those things that will screw you randomly on the trail out in the middle of nowhere some time. And it's not difficult to get the exhaust and fuel tank and stuff off the bike. So if (when) you notice it start to leak oil, then replace it. My two cents...
