I'm putting an '03 TTR225 engine in my friend's '05 TW200, using one of Placerlode's countershaft extenders.

The TTR engine is a silver/gray color (like the TW engines from '89-'03), but my friend's TW engine is black.

The problem is, I've got to use the TW left side cover on the TTR engine, and I'd like to make it match (somewhat, at least).

I've got a spare side cover that I've been trying different paints on, but I can't seem to find a good match.

Have any of you found a good match for Yamaha's silver/gray engine paint?

Or... do any of you have a silver/gray TW side cover with good paint you can part with (or maybe trade for a black one)?

Thanks, guys! :hello:

Jeepster called it!

I ended up using Duplicolor HWP102 Graphite wheel paint.

It's a little bit darker... but not obnoxiously so. Also, there's darker paint underneath, so maybe a gray primer base coat would lighten up the finished product.

Unfortunately, it turns out I can't use it. It's a 1989-2000 side cover, so it won't work with my friend's 2005.

Does anyone want it? It has a new SKF sealed countershaft bearing installed! :eek:ccasion14:
