I think the clutch lever lock would be rather handy for those quick stops to open ranch gates , perhaps take a quick photo, or show a pass at park entrances without the delays of shutting off engine or finding neutral for an idling bike. Very nice.

Son ofa Bitch!
They stole my R-clip seat pin system! Not so much as a thank you or even a how-do-you-do either.
I wonder if they know I have a patent on that. Ha!
But I'm ready to forgive, just toss me a bone: How about a rear disc brake assembly for my idea and photos you used to copy my idea.

It might be a stolen idea, but they used their own photos.

it's funny that they claim you need lock-tite to keep the stud in place so the clip will hit the hole. You don't. The R clip will keep the threaded pin from unscrewing. See? I just improved their profit margin with that suggestion.

Some updates from Brad:

"I am trying like crazy to finish up these rear brake kits. People have pre-ordered several of them and we have decided to make a change to a slightly bigger disc and dual piston caliper at the last minute. Caused myself some extra headache but I want them to be good when they go out. Also almost done with the front disc conversion for the old ones. Got my first couple samples of the mud flaps in and they are very impressive. Got more on the way. The saddle bag/utility mounts are actually a lot better and more useful than I thought. I think we are going to sell them as a set or just left side only. That way it offsets the size and weight of the muffler and works great for a rotopax gas can, box mount or a 5 gallon bucket (which is what I use it for). Everything is still moving forward as planned, just slower than I like (as usual). Updating the website weekly. Probably going to start including some stuff for the XT250 as well since it is similar."

"Good news. It's not easy but it is possible to use the rear disc conversion with the fat tire conversion. Everything is working great."

First, thank vwbobby for being the liaison between Brad and the forum.
Second, does he know if the fat tire conversion will work with a 2" extended swingarm? I'm willing to front the funds on the first extended swingarm version of the rear disc set-up. I'm hoping that is with the larger disc and dual piston caliper upgrade.

I sent the question to Brad. When he replies I'll post it up.

What type of extension do you have? Is it a JNS or the stock swingarm cut and lengthened?

Brad replied - "I really need an extension set to prototype with. I currently don't have one. I think the brake hose is going to be a little short. I can probably come up with a longer hose if so I will have inventory here Monday and more hubs machined this week."

The stock swingarm was cut and extended 2".
Since all the tabs and stuff are stock, I would presume a longer brake line is all that is needed. If I knew what length hose is in the kit, then I'd simply get one 2" longer and order and request a kit without the hose.

Yes sir, that's what I'm thinking as well.

Lol. Actually, on my TW, finding neutral was an issue with conventional Yamalube once the bike warmed up (with less than 1000 miles). Always at a busy intersection too. The 2 things that fixed that were changing to Motul synthetic, and adding an LED bulb in the neutral lamp (& possibly an oil cooler).

The LED light was helpful because I discovered I kept passing neutral when it was getting hard to down shift at a stoplight. The LED would instantly flash, whereas there was not enough time for a standard incandescent bulb to start to glow between 2nd to 1st.

You cant be playing around here. People will run you over. See how the sign says DO NOT BLOCK? That would be me.
One day I will get my bike back to the desert. In the mean time, it's a great city commuter, but your head needs to be on a swivel, with 100% SA.

A couple thoughts about the disc brake kit:
1. It's rare to find a dual caliper on a rear wheel of a motorcycle, especially a smaller bike like the TW. I wonder why he finds that to be necessary. Likely the single caliper he tested wasn't strong enough but that doesn't mean there aren't better out that would do the job.
2. The brake line looks very vulnerable. Most every image I found of a rear disc brake assembly has the brake line routed close and sometimes clipped to the swingarm.
3. Two accessory suggestions: a disc rotor fin shark guard and a caliper guard. Maybe not necessary, but if there's a guard for the chain, then perhaps one on the rotor would be a good idea as well.

Some photos to demonstrate my thoughts:

This image shows the brake line tucked up close to the swingarm for protection from snags. It also has a rock fin.

This image shows a couple potential accessories: a fin AND a much more precise chain/wheel alignment. I really hate the snail alignment and for a disc rotor, it's pretty important that it be in perfect alignment with the caliper so it doesn't drag and will provide maximum braking power.

Another image of brake line routing and notice all three images show a single caliper. I could not find any bike images that show a dual caliper on the rear wheel. Hence my questioning the need for the TW to do so.
