when draining the oil to see if my valve tappet and jam nut made it into the sump, i realized there was something blocking the opening. Not sure what it is but you can not see into the sump. there is a piece of black plastic blocking the drain hole. On my other bikes you could see into the sump, so is something wrong?

There is a spring and a screen on my TW. The screen has a plastic end cap. Did your screen stay in place?

No the spring and screen came out. Seems its on the other side of the where the screen stops. Possibly normal?

I'm going to try and change my oil and adjust my valves tomorrow, I'll have a look in mine and take a picture.
